Podere Forte Guardiavigna 2007

The 2007 Guardiavigna shows a touch more freshness and restraint than the Petrucci in this vintage. Dark fruit, herbs and spices come together nicely in a warm, radiant expression of these hillside vineyards located just south of Siena. Like so many 2007s the Guardiavigna is quite open even at this early stage, but it also possesses more than enough vibrancy and verve to develop beautifully in bottle over the coming years. Minerals, menthol and chocolate add complexity on the round, polished finish. Guardiavigna is a Bordeaux-inspired blend of 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2027.
