What makes this Asolo appellation special (as compared with Valdobbiadene / Conegliano) is that it is the smallest and still produces the special characteristic which makes prosecco famous in the first place. Valdobbiadene and Conegliano have expanded (like Champagne zone) in the last 5 years to a much bigger zone and hence quality wise may have been compromised amongst some producers. This Loredan Gasparini Prosecco Superiore DOCG Asolo is much fresher and closer to the real Venetian style (less sweet and more acidity). A terrific bottle of Prosecco from the just elevated Asolo DOCG. Clean and fresh aromas and flavors of citrus, apple, melon, pear and a dash of spice. Bright and juicy in texture with plenty of fun and fruity fizz, this gets a touch more complex on the back as a note of citrus peel emerges on the long, zesty finish. A fun Prosecco to sip or celebrate with!
