A very deep and concentrated dry pinot blanc that’s only just beginning to give its best. Wonderful balance of creamy richness with delicately toasty and caramelized-pear character. Modest acidity, but so much mineral energy that you don’t think for a second about the scale of the wine (14%). Extremely long and silky finish.
The 2019 Pinot Bianco Riserva Vorberg has an exotic flair, blending rich notes of vanilla custard with white flowers, crushed pears and hints of sweet spice. It’s silky and deeply textural, washing creamy waves of ripe orchard fruits across the palate, while leaving saline-minerals that create a more tactile feel. There are depths yet unseen here, as the 2019 comes across as densely packed and layered, yet with perfect balance and a tart citrus reverberation that adds energy. It finishes long and lightly structured, leaving the palate completely refreshed. This is just a baby today, yet it is full of potential.
Subtle oak, ripe Williams pear, pineapple, spring floral and chalky bouquet. The palate is mouthfilling and juicy with an impressive intensity of ripe fruit flavours, underscored by crisp acidity, well-integrated alcohol and a long mineral-inflected finish. Super now, and won’t fall over anytime soon. Remarkable.
