The 2014 Barolo Brunate is another very pretty wine from Rinaldi. In 2014, the Brunate doesn’t quite have the breadth and textural resonance it typically offers, but otherwise the dark character of Brunate comes through nicely. A host of wild black cherry, spice, leather and balsamic-infused notes develop in the glass. It will be interesting to see if the 2014 gains a bit more weight with time in bottle. Today, the wine is a bit compact and tightly wound, even by Rinaldi standards.
