Featured in the late Burton Anderson’s Best Italian Wines – wines selected by him must have been consistently high quality and stood the test of time.
Frascati Superiore DOCG wines come from the northern end of the Colli Albani hills, just to the southeast of Rome, Italy. These dry, still, white wines are produced under Frascati’s most stringent production conditions, and represent a significant step up in quality from standard Frascati wines.
Frascati Superiore Santa Teresa di Fontana Candida was born in vineyards located in Santa Teresa, in the municipality of Rome. 50% Malvasia di Candia, 30% dotted Malvasia,10% Tuscan Trebbiano and 10% Greco. Gleaming straw yellow with a delicate but defined nose of subtle floral notes with hints of sage and apple. A full flavour, which is soft but fresh and perky, tangy with an unmistakable and pleasingly persistent sweet almond aftertaste. The wine is especially elegant. This is the Frascati benchmark.
