The 2019 Rosso di Montalcino lifts up with a pretty herbal and floral display, gaining richness with time in the glass, as wild strawberries and brown spice come forward with hints of white pepper and smoke. It boasts silky textures over a medium-bodied frame, with masses of ripe red and black berries contrasted by salty minerals. A gorgeous inner sweetness lingers, tapering off to inner violet tones with an underlying twang of tart citrus. There’s really quite a lot going on here for a Rosso which may become even more expressive with short-term cellaring.
WC: Precise and harmonious, it shows notes of strawberries, geraniums, passion flowers and chamomile. In the background, the solid and defined central core is reminiscent of wild strawberries and sweet black cherries. Medium-full body, round tannins and a truly radiant and essential finish. Drink now.
