“Stylish and restrained lychee, apricot kernel, vibrant citrus and rosebuds are accompanied by a lifted, sparkling structure; lively, polished and spicy. It is not easy to describe the delicate and sober elegance of wines like this, but it should be considered one of the best Italian white wines. 2010 is the new edition of the 100% Pinot Bianco, Rarity. It undergoes a slow fermentation in stainless steel tanks and is then aged on its lees in large wooden barrels for 12 months, followed by further ageing on its lees in steel tanks without filtering or fining for 11 years (the so-called ‘Stocker method’).” DECANTER
“The 2010 Pinot Bianco Rarity is a model of purity. Its bouquet impresses with a brilliant blend of white peach and tropical citrus, perfectly offset by an enriching note of almond paste and sweet butter. While supple and round on the palate, there’s an unbelievable amount of energy within, blending ripe orchard fruits with a zesty citrus tension. The 2010 finishes with impressive length, leaving a staining of minerality under an air of inner florals. What a beauty this is, and still with many years of development in store for patient collectors.” VINOUS
